SDMA has climbed further than its normal variation explains, reaching 13 µg/dL, while staying inside its reference range. Creatinine has stayed in range too.
What this combination usually means›
Every one of those readings is inside the normal range, so nothing here is abnormal; the direction is the only thing that stands out. SDMA tends to move earlier than creatinine when filtration changes, and it also moves for reasons that have nothing to do with the kidneys. A repeat in a few weeks, with a urine sample, is how a trend gets told apart from a run of ordinary variation.
